Achievements should be celebrated and that’s exactly what Quantum Logistics, CQR Itajai, is doing after being nominated as the ‘Official Logistics Provider’ of 11th Transat Jacques Vabre, an ocean race along the ancient coffee route. Approximately 45 boats, 40-70ft, travelled 5,395 nautical miles, sailing from Le Havre, France on November 3rd, arriving 15 days later in Itajai, Brazil. Much like the ‘Volvo Ocean Race,’ the ‘Transat Jacques Vabre is among the biggest nautical events in the world. This was an historical moment for Brazil and in particular Itajai, reinforcing the tendency of the city to host nautical events of this magnitude.

Hired by the event organisers, Quantum coordinated the entire logistics operation, including all the air and ocean shipments of the support materials for the event from France to Brazil, customs clearance, management of supplies and boats and inland transportation from port and airport to the ocean race village.

By the end of the event, approximately 27 boats from 4 different classes, which measured 12.18m long by 4.5m beam and 21.2m long by 16.8m beam, returned to France on board break bulk ships in which the stowage happened by lashing and lifting the boats from seaside of the vessels directly on deck in a delicate counter board operation.

Acknowledgement and responsibility like this show that Quantum is on the right path, emphasizing a trustworthy image of the company as a Project Cargo Operator within Brazilian territory.

Conqueror would like to congratulate the team on this achievement and invite all members with shipments in Itajai to get in touch.
