Conqueror Antwerp moves an artwork for installation in the valley of La Grave, in La Meije, France

They collaborated with CQR Manchester to successfully execute this prestigious project

Van Moer Logistics, Conqueror member in Antwerp, Belgium, has recently transported an artwork shipment from the UK to France. The artwork by Antony Gormley called SITE will be permanently installed in the mountains in L’Aiguillon, in La Meije France. The intention of the installation is to celebrate life, love and friendship and offer something to inspire the local community.

The statue made out of cast iron weighed 915 kg. Conqueror Antwerp airlifted the sculpture and transported it safely to the mountains in La Grave.

“We are proud to be in charge of this prestigious project involving the movement of this acclaimed sculpture. Moreover, I want to extend my thanks to CBI Global, our Conqueror partner in Manchester, who cooperated with us in every step of the process,” says Frank Van Geijt, the Commercial Manager of Van Moer Forwarding.

According to the sculptor Antony Gormley, this sculpture is an attempt to materialize the love for the mountains. It will face the mountains across the valley. Moreover, it will be visible from all the nearby villages. He hopes that the artwork will become a centre of gravity for the local communities in the area.

Conqueror Antwerp’s owner and founder receives the Maritime Award of the Year 2019

Jo Van Moer was granted this award for his vision and insights regarding the transport and logistics operations within the Port of Antwerp

Jo Van Moer, the owner and founder of Van Moer Forwarding BVBA, the Conqueror member in Antwerp, Belgium, has won the Maritime Award of the Year 2019 in an official ceremony which took place on the 10th of October, 2019. Every year the President and the Board of Directors of ESPA (Flemish Association of Maritime and Logistics Journalists and Publicists) select and grant this reward to the maritime personality who has been most remarkably responsible for the general growth and innovation of the maritime business within the port of Antwerp.

Jo Van Moer was a recipient of this prestigious award because of his vision on the maritime industry within the Antwerp Port which focuses on intermodal transport via barge and proper organization of night transports to further optimize the logistical flow. In the words of Raf Frans, the Commercial Manager of CQR Antwerp, “Our team couldn’t have been more delighted with this prestigious award going to our company’s founder. Receiving this award further demonstrates the competency of our team and our insights into the maritime business in and around the port of Antwerp!”
