CQR Genoa ships entire luxury resort to Zanzibar

CQR Genoa has had its hands full over the past year with the handling and shipping of an entire Azemar luxury resort to Zanzibar, and the project is still going. At this point I should emphasise that they shipped everything! Tiles, paint, furniture, cutlery, plants, linen, curtains, electrical material, computers, towels, mattresses and even golf buggies. The list is endless.

Due to the variety of goods being shipped, it wasn’t as simple as ‘stick it all in a container and off you go!’ The Euromarine team took into account the nature of each product, resulting in the goods being transported in all manner of ways by sea freight(dry container, flat rack, open top and break bulk) and air freight. In addition to the shipping of these goods they were also chosen to take care of the lashing, loading, insurance, customs…basically a door to door service!
Sales Manager Laura Dallera says, “The handling and shipping of this resort has certainly shown Euromarine’s claim of being ‘a flexible organization which offers customised services tailored to the specific needs of our clients,’ to be absolutely true. Our team rose to the challenge of this mammoth task and have excelled themselves!”

CQR Qingdao enjoys a change in weather

CQR Qingdao was chosen by LM Wind Power Co. Ltd to handle the shipping of 6 wind turbine blades from Tianjin to Alexandria in July 2012. This was not S.F. Systems first experience of such a shipment; they previously shipped 36 of these blades to Brake, Germany.

Logistics Industry

CQR Qingdao was charged with the picking, loading, custom clearance and shipping of this order by break-bulk. In addition to the two shipments already made by S.F. Systems, they have been nominated for a further contract consisting of 54 blades to be shipped to Germany early next year.

The dimensions of each blade were as follows: 34.4m x 2.59m and each weighed 5,781Kg.

Logistics IndustryYou might think that concern about climate change would damage the freight forwarding industry, especially as initiatives such as ‘buy local’ and ‘reduce your carbon footprint’ become more popular. But it is clear that new shipping opportunities are opening up for the right forwarders in the renewable energy sector. With almost 15 years of experience and principles of responsibility, efficiency and conscientiousness at the centre of all operations, CQR Qingdao is certainly one of those.

CQR Bucharest transports 90 ton hydraulic excavator

In July this year, CQR Bucharest was chosen to transport a 90 ton Hydraulic Excavator (CAT 385C L) from Hartmannsdorf to Balomirul de Camp in Romania

This shipment demonstrates one of CQR Bucharest’s niche operational areas; that of the road transportation of oversize/overweight goods. Thanks to its own fleet of trucks and experienced staff, ADD Cargo excels at moving cargo such as this. Of course it’s not only the oversize/overweight shipments that they can handle. In their own words they can take care of whatever ‘wherever, whenever!’
CQR Bucharest is one of our recent additions to the network and its General Manager Mr Adrian Radulescu said of working with their new CQR partners that, “We sincerely hope that our association with each one of you will result in a mutually beneficial relationship and will increase our customers’ satisfaction.”

CQR Lahore recognised for its excellent performance

freight forwarderCQR Lahore was chosen by Pakistan’s largest engineering company, Descon Engineering, to handle the shipping of a Mammoet Crawler Crane from Jabel Ali Dubai to Karachi Pakistan. As this was a Hook to Hook the UF Logistics team (CQR Lahore) arranged for the crane to be left in the capable hands of Iron Line.

The dimensions were as follows: 2,429.21 M3 810.70 Metric tons.
Obviously this is not the kind of shipment made in one piece!  It was carefully dismantled at Jebel Ali and loaded onto a chartered BBulk/Roro Iron Line vessel for its short voyage to Pakistan.

With over 15 years in the business, UF Logistics has become renowned in Pakistan for getting ‘shipments cleared faster, easier and with less hassle,’ as their mantra states. Descon Engineering certainly believed this, as they awarded the CQR Lahore team with ‘an appreciation letter’ for their excellent performance on this job!

Ekol Logistics used flat-rack containers and provided the lashing prior to the shipping line UASC taking over the transportation of the shipment.

Being the most well-established forwarder in Turkey made CQR Istanbul the clear choice for the handling of this shipment. Founded in 1990, Ekol Logistics has made a name for itself in the world of integrated logistics services and for this shipment, it was no different.

A Tremendous Feat for CQR Cairo

In June 2012 CQR Cairo was chosen to transport a shipment of petroleum equipment from Egypt to Houston in the United States. What makes this story more interesting is that a decade earlier the MGL team had shipped the exact same cargo to the US as a brand new piece of equipment. It fell back into their hands this year, in a slightly older state, to be shipped back to the US on an Air France Freighter after some renovations were carried out in Egypt.

The dimensions of this cargo were as follows 200cm x 200cm x 230 cm, weight 4300 kg.

Marc Gharabawi, MGL’s Director, told CQR Head Office that, “Despite the competition for this kind of shipment, we have created strong relationships with most airlines meaning that MGL is the popular choice as a subcontractor for petroleum companies in Cairo.”

CQR Lima crushes its rivals with its project cargo capabilities

In April 2012, CQR Lima  was chosen to handle the shipment of a mineral crusher from Callao, Peru to San Antonio, Chile by the international engineering company, Sandvik del Peru

logistics companies and suppliers
As well as being of a colossal size, a mineral crusher with its magnet is also a colossal weight. In this case 51 tons! It is obvious from the pictures that it is a self-propelled shipment and the best way to move a shipment like this is by Ro/Ro, which is exac tly what International Freight logistics companies and suppliersShipping SAC (IFS) did with the shipping line Transmeridian.

IFS explained to CQR Head Office that the shipping of a mineral crusher doesn’t come along all that often, however the shipping of project cargo does. Project Cargo is one area, along with LCL and FCL that CQR Lima specialises in.
